How to Actually get Paid Coaching Clients

... NO business / Sales Experience Required

⚠️5 Tips for Avoiding Business Failure

“My product or service is so good… Why’s nobody’s buying it?”

Ever caught yourself saying this to yourself?…

If so, keep reading (if not, read anyway – this could help a friend in this situation)

The core underlying problem behind this dilemma is simply a lack of empathy.

Here’s the shocking reality:

95% (or more) of coaches/entrepreneurs fail in their first year of business

Why? they assume they know their audience.

And they don’t.

At least not nearly well enough to serve them properly (and build something they actually want).

How do you avoid this trap?

5 Tips for Avoiding Business Failure:

   1. Get real.

Again, don’t assume you know your audience (unless you’ve done the hard work of understanding them deeply)

We all have noise in our heads.

Theirs is different to yours.

They don’t think what you think, and want what you want.

(Relying on assumptions are a lazy entrepreneurs excuse for not doing proper research)

   2. Get to know them better than your spouse

Not really! But at times you might be spending more time with them than your spouse, so it’s worth getting to know them really really well.

If not, you’ll be lost in the dark and be clueless about what to create.

   What are their…

  • Needs?
  • Preferences?
  • Behaviors?
  • Interests?
  • Values?
  • Language patterns?
  • Lifestyles? …

   3. Get out there

And get your hands dirty.

Solve actual problems. Have actual conversations.

Most coaches/entrepreneurs are hiding behind social media – a one way ticket to bankruptcy of impact and finances.

Don’t be one of them.

   4. Get personal

We don’t sell coaching programs (or courses, or apps, or whatever)…

We’re in the business of relationships.

We sell experiences and feelings.

And we move at the speed of trust.

(Read that again. Never forget it)

Do everything you can to invest in relationships and trust, and chances are you’ll never be out of business.

   5. Get innovative:

The heartbeat of growth.

If your business is a rocket, innovation is the rocket fuel!

It’s the dance of ideas that accelerate your business forward.

Here’s the process (in a nutshell):

  • Build – a prototype based off your research
  • Test it
  • Fail (forward) – don’t be afraid to blow things up 🧨
  • Validate – “does this work? Do they (really) like it?”
  • Refine it
  • Implement – the real thing you’re going to roll out to the market
  • Repeat – each cycle brings you closer to perfection (or as close to it as possible)

The more you apply these tips (with practical empathy at the center), the more you’ll have a chance of building something that people actually want, of serving them at the highest level, and building a sustainable business that carries on your legacy.
